Aromatization plant for naphtha quality improvement

 Common characteristics of straight-run gasoline (AD top product) and naphtha, condensate oil is octane number (between 45~65), they can’t be directly blended with other gasoline products and sold out, they’re generally as raw material for catalytic reforming or ethylene cracking, but the investment of catalytic reforming or cracking for ethylene is high and require a large project scale.

How to solve this part of the resources and improve the quality of gasoline products has become a more serious task. On this basis, the naphtha aromatization technology is generated, the technology uses special catalysts, change alkane or olefin of straight run gasoline/naphtha/ condensate oil to aromatics, for the production of high octane gasoline blending components, after blending can be sold out as gasoline products. Products from this technology, the octane number of gasoline has high octane number of 80~85 and by-product is high quality liquefied gas, liquefied gas has a high economic value in the regions lack of it.

The high octane gasoline produced by aromatization technology has the following characteristics:

1The molecular sieve catalyst used has a certain resist ability to sulfur and nitrogen, and the raw material does not need deep hydrorefining.

2The product is not limited by the latent content of aromatics, and the raw material does not need to be prefractionated.

3By changing the reaction conditions, the product distribution can be adjusted at a certain extent so as to adapt to the market changes.

4Compared with reforming process, the plant investment is much less and the operating cost is lower.

5The gasoline product produced has low olefin content (less than 5% olefin content), which is suitable for blending of high quality clean gasoline.
